INJURY ALERT!

The more I work on my golf game, the more nature proves I’m no spring chicken. This afternoon while doing some swing work on the simulator in the garage, I took a swing and had a pretty good twinge in my lower back. While it’s not so bad I couldn’t push through, I still have to go to work, so I will be taking (at least) a few days off and will post some updates along the way.

With my old man back in mind, this is a great opportunity to remind all of you, old and young alike, to stretch regularly. Not only is it good for you in general, but it will help prevent injuries. New research indicates that stretching is not only beneficial in the most obvious ways but may also reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes! Runner’s World has a great article that goes into it a bit more and also covers current methodologies about when to use dynamic stretches and when to use old-fashioned static stretching.

In the meantime, I will be able to work on my putting, which has been one of the worst parts of my game as of late.

What part of your game have you been struggling with the most lately?
