Overall I’m happy with this month’s whiskey from my subscription. It’s a potent American blended at 59.61% ABV, but doesn’t necessarily drink that strong. This is definitely a whiskey that will be added to my infinity bottle, though not one that will likely make my “must have” list for future purchases. For a bourbon it’s not too sweet and is almost on the sour mash side of flavor (which I prefer), but does drink fairly smoothly straight and over ice.
Flavor
Overall I like the flavor, though it takes a few sips to get past the overwhelming ABV which tends to obscure flavor for me.
Smoothness
Much smoother than I would have expected for a whiskey that’s nearly 110 proof. Very easy to drink over ice with a spritz of water.
Kick
One finger, maybe two maximum for me. This is one that will knock me on my ass after a couple glasses in a sneaky way.
Price
Stellum lists a bottle of this at $99 on their website, though it appears to go for a bit less around the web. Not sure I would spend more than around $70 for a bottle, personally.
